Simply Lindys....

Oh My Goodness ... It's JUNE!!!!!
Arrgggg.... and it's cold here in Adelaide...
Winter has just started but the sun is out each day despite the icy cold
air .... perfect for scrapping I say!

The LSG team have created another gorgeous color challenge this month
and I couldn't wait to get started on it!

I'm a bit of a sucker for stamps featuring circles
(actually I am a bit of a sucker for stamps full stop) and felt it was time to pull some of them out!

I started with Marshmallow cardstock and stamped with Black Archival ink.
Next thing I did was test out all my colours - I find this super helpful when it
comes to creating a page.

I then 'puddled' on the color using a round #12 brush - a brush that holds lots of liquid is
perfect for this. Once I coloured all the circles, I dried it with my heat tool and applied
another coat of colour to add intensity and depth.

I used Alpine Ice Rose for the background by using a wet brush and pushing the colour
around the page. By dipping it in water, it allows me to dilute the colour a little
and create a lighter tone of the lovely Rose shade.

Once it was dry, I covered up my circles with some paper towel and added a few splatters
of colour to add some more layers and dimension.

I then added a little heavy gesso through a stencil to create some
more interest in the background.

It's that easy!

I have created a short process video for you to view.. head over to my YouTube

Here are a few detailed shots of the layout.

Adore You - with Lindys Stamp Gang

The color challenge for May is such a beautiful palette and although it's not my usual combination of colors that I am drawn to... I really enjoyed working with them and the colors work wonderful together.

My inspiration for the page is from the new stamp set from Darkroom Door that I got my hands on last week ... I knew straight away that those gorgeous flowers needed to be embossed and cut out.

So I started with some 300gsm XPressit watercolor paper and used clear embossing ink to stamp the images. Obviously Black is my go to embossing powder - love it - sprinkled it on, hit it with the heat tool and melt those gorgeous embossing crystals.

Next I tipped a little Creme Brulee Cream, Pop Rock Purple & Tilt a Wheel Teal into my palette then painted it direct to my flowers.

On the background, I started with Creme Brulee and 'created' drips down the page
I added the Pop Rock Purple next - after drying the previous color - applying the same to create drips
 And finally the Teal

For my Imaginarium Designs chipboard title, I used Midnight Pewter embossing powder and double embossed it to get a nice thick glossy coating
I have created a short video that you can view here showing you the whole process

Dream with Lindys

Hi Gang!
Today I thought I’d give you a closer look at the scrapbook page I created using the stunning April collection and show you how easy it is to make!  Have you had a go at creating something with the gorgeous Lindy’s April Color Challenge colors yet?
Let me talk you through all the details!
I started with a little gesso stenciling on Marshmallow cardstock before applying Chateau Rose to the background using a stamp block – this is simple – grab your acrylic stamp block, paint on some color & stamp direct to your page!
Once dry, I used a brush to splatter on Hydrangea Blue, Blue Hawaiian Blue and Rusty Lantern Lime.
I wanted to create a couple of tags as well so I punched them out using 300gsm Watercolour paper then applied the sprays direct to them allowing them to dry.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
I used the super cool Stampotique stamps as well on this page. I used ‘whatever‘ in grey archival ink lightly on the background and ‘Daniels Hearts‘ was stamped on acetate and used as an embellishment. I also lightly stamped ‘Row faces‘ on the tags once they were dry.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Once I had finished the page, I covered the photo & embellishments and then gave the project a splatter of Blazin Black just to give it a pop!
If you have a minute or two, I have created a process video for you to view.

More Lindys + Stampotique

You could have heard me squeal with delight when I heard about the product showcase with Stampotique Stamps!I love the quirky, funky and slightly odd stamps by this great company and knew straight away that I wanted to add another page to my Art Journal.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI started out giving my journal a good coat of gesso and then stamped the Heads in Archival Ink across the bottom of my page.  I then added Black Forest Black NEW Magical Shaker in a wash across the background before sprinkling it on to create depth and activate those awesome colours.  I then added some Blazin Black Flat Fabio with a brush across the top & allowed it to drip down.Once dry, I masked off the centre of Oh Boys and used the NEW Black Forest Black Embossing Powder to highlight the circles. I added a little gesso to the centres too.a73d2e6f92ab482db9e946dc62327fbbThe Prom Queen was stamped on old dictionary paper before being coloured in with Magical Shakers in Bavarian BlueLederhosen LaurelPolka Purple & Oom Pah Pah Pink.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI finished off with a few ‘whatever‘ stamps and popped it aside to dry!So that’s my quirky little Art Journal Page!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Lindys & Stampotique LOVE

I’m feeling a little funky today & want to share a super easy set of cards with you, created using Lindy’s gorgeous sprays and embossing powders and some brilliant Stampotique stamps!
I love these stamps – easy to use and I really love that they are animated and kinda funky!

And the Lindy’s sprays look simply amazing on these!  The Imaginarium Chipboard circles were sprayed with a combination of Urban Amethyst, Blazin Black & Magnolia Magenta Gold sprays.PicMonkey Collage5
For the base of the card, I again collaged some torn paper with Gel Medium, swiped on some white gesso and then stamped Heads again for some added interest.
The incredible shimmer from the Starburst Sprays makes these cards just pop – the photos really don’t do them justice!
Make sure you head over to Stampotique and check out their incredible range of stamps – there is something for everyone!
